Nature and a trip to the Curve Garden!

A warm up with one of Betty Edwards wonderful drawing exercises kicked off the third session of the term, which focused on patterns in nature. Kate had collected a bunch of fabric samples with fantastic graphic nature patterns that the kids then copied with pencil and water colours to help with inspiration (the drawings will make fantastic cards too!). They also began to open up to the idea of individual style, and how there is no right and wrong when it comes to art! The day was ended with an exciting trip the Curve Garden in Hackney, where everyone settled down to sketch the parts and plants that they liked the most (and eat some biscuits!)
